About Varsity/Junior Varsity Nationals

The 2024 International Academic Competitions Varsity and Junior Varsity National Championships will take place from April 25-28, 2024 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Virginia. Please note that staying at the host hotel is required for all participants coming from outside a 100-mile driving radius. See below for registration links, and important information on all events at Nationals.

Important Registration Notes

Before Registering: Please review the costs, refund policy, and qualification notes listed below carefully before registering!
Processing Fee: Note that credit card payments will include a non-refundable 4% credit card processing fee.
Registration Deadline: The registration deadline has been extended to April 18, 2024 for individual events, and April 15 for bowl teams.
Discounted Pricing Deadline: The registration deadline for the discounted pricing is December 27, 2023 – registration must be complete and payment must be submitted by 11:59pm local time for where a family is located on that day for the discounts to be applicable.

Qualification Notes – Please read before registering!

The National History Bee and National History Bowl require prior qualifying at the regional level.

The US History Bee, National Science Bee and National Political Science Bee are open only to students who have qualified on their respective National Qualifying Exam.

The US Geography Championships and National Geography Bee are open only to students who have qualified on the Geography National Qualifying Exam.

No qualification is required to compete in any of the National Championship Exams or the National Academic Bee.

Official Refund Policy

On or Before April 7: 90% of paid fees not including credit card fees.
April 8-18: 50% of paid fees not including credit card fees.
April 19 and onwards: No refunds.
