The International Geography Bee is a buzzer-based history quiz competition for individual students. We offer it both at the Elementary and Middle School level, and at the High School level. The two levels work slightly differently, see below. If you have any questions, please contact info@iacompetitions.com.

1. Elementary and Middle School International Geography Bee

Qualification begins with the Online Regional Qualifying Exam, which students must pass to be invited to compete in the Regional Finals. With your invitation in hand, you can register for the Regional Finals in your area! We offer up to 3 opportunities to attend Regional Finals on different question sets – your ORQE qualification allows you to attend all 3 if you like! Students who perform well will be invited to join us at our National Championships each year in June.

2. High School International Geography Bee

The International Geography Bee is a geography quiz competition for individual students. At all National History Bee and Bowl regional tournaments, individual students can elect to take the National Qualifying Exam during the lunch break. Students can also elect to take the exam online. To take the NQE online, students interested in taking any or all versions of the Varsity and JV NQE should follow the instructions on the Regionals Page here.

Students who score highly on these exams will qualify for the National Championships.
