About Middle & Elementary School Nationals

The 2024 International Academic Competitions Middle and Elementary School National Championships will take place from May 23-27, 2024 at the Hyatt Regency Orlando, Florida. Please note that staying at one of the official host hotels is required for all participants coming from outside a 100-mile driving radius. See below for registration links, and important information on all events at Nationals.

Registration, Costs, and Qualification Notes

Important Registration Notes

  • Before Registering: Please review the costs, refund policy, and qualification notes listed below carefully before registering!

  • Processing Fee: Note that registration fees includes a non-refundable 4% Credit Card Processing Fee that is incurred with your registration and this fee is non-refundable.

  • Registration Deadline: The registration deadline is May 6, 2024.

Official Refund Policy

  • Before May 1: 90% of paid fees not including credit card fees.
  • May 1-15: 50% of paid fees not including credit card fees.

  • May 16 and onwards: No refunds.

  • Jeopardy Charity Games – $60 (limit 1 per competing student)

History Bowl

Max size is 4 players at once; unlimited substitute players

  • Team – $495

  • Duo Teams – $375

  • Solo Team – $195

Academic Bowl

Max size is 4 players at once; unlimited substitute players.

Geography Bowl

Max size is 2 players at once, a 3rd substitute player is allowed

Qualification Notes – Please read before registering!

  • 1
    The National History Bee, National Geography Bee, and National Science Bee require prior qualifying at the regional level.
  • 2
    The US History Bee is open only to students who have qualified for and are competing in the National Championships of the National History Bee.
  • 3
    The US Geography Championships is open only to students who have qualified for and are competing in the National Championships of the National Geography Bee.
  • 4
    The National Academic Bee and the Jeopardy Charity Games are open to any student who has qualified for and is competing in either the National Geography Bee, National History Bee, and/or the National Science Bee at the National Championships.
  • 5
    Teams in the National Geography Bowl must have at least one student who has qualified for and is competing in the National Championships of the National Geography Bee. The other student(s) do not require prior qualifying
  • 6
    Teams in the National History Bowl must have qualified at the regional level or have at least one student who has qualified for and is competing in the National Championships of the National History Bee. The other student(s) do not require prior qualifying
  • 7
    No qualification is required to compete in any of the National Championship Exams, the Intro to Model UN, the Family Quiz Night, or the National Children’s Crossword Championship.

    The IAC Parents Academic Bee is open to any adult family member in an older generation than the member of their family competing at Nationals. This includes grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins once removed, etc. Family friends are welcome to compete as well.

    The IAC Teachers Academic Bee is open to any teacher or administrator at any school with at least one student from their school competing in the National History Bee, National Geography Bee, National Science Bee, or National History Bowl at Nationals.
  • 10
    The IAC Siblings Academic Bee is open to any family member in the same generation of a competing student at Nationals, including cousins. However, this competition is NOT open to any student who is competing in the National History Bee, National Science Bee, National Geography Bee, National History Bowl, or National Geography Bowl. That caveat aside, friends of students who are in high school in 2023-24 or younger who are attending Nationals are welcome to compete as well. There will be separate age divisions for this competition; age cut offs for these will depend on enrollment numbers.
